Office 2007 Touchdown Event Paris

Just got back from the Office 2007 TTT in Paris. This event was brought to us by Patrick Tisseghem (www.u2u.be) and Ed Chang from Microsoft.

It was a great event and I am actually looking forward to redelivering the content to the ISVs here in the Netherlands.

A few things to point out: (in random order)

* Ed pointed us to the following website: http://www.developwithoutborders.com . This a really cool contest in which you need to come up with an idea and design of an application for a (local) charity organisation using the power of Office / MOSS 2007. If your idea wins the contest, Microsoft will help you realize the solution!

* In MOSS 2007 Office Web Components are not upgraded but you can use the current Sharepoint 2k3 webparts. They are replaced by new Excel Server / BDC components.

* We had a _really_ good time at the Hard Rock cafe on the Boulevard Montmarte wednesday evening. From left to right, Johann from Iceland, Denis from South Africa, Patrick from Belgium and me (from The Netherlands).

* And last but not least….I got to stay in Paris Hilton 😉
