Info Support joins Hacktoberfest for 3rd year in a row

Happy Hacktoberfest everyone! We are so excited to be participating in Hacktoberfest again this year. At Info Support, we believe in the power of collaboration and open-source software. That’s why we’re contributing to some of the projects we use. We even actively maintain some of them! Help us design and implement new features, write documentation, or fix bugs.

The hackathon will take place during the famous Hacktoberfest so you can use your contributions to get that awesome Hacktoberfest T-shirt! New to open source? We will help you to get started with your first contribution.

What is Hacktoberfest?

Hacktoberfest, in its 9th year, is a month-long celebration of open source software run by DigitalOcean. It is a great opportunity for everyone, from seasoned developers to students and code newbies, from technical writers to UX designers, to contribute to open source communities and develop your skills, with the perks of winning limited edition items.

What are we going to do?

We invite you to join us on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th of October for the Hacktoberfest at Info Support: an open source hackathon. What are we going to do? We decide that together during the first hours of the hackathon from a prepared list of exciting features and potential bug fixes!

To give an example, this is what we implemented last year:

Are you new to open source?

No problem! On Friday morning Nico Jansen, IT consultant @ Info Support and maintainer of Stryker will give a workshop “how do I start contributing to open source” and our Info Support open source community will help you get started with your first contribution.

How to participate?

  1. Register below for our Hacktoberfest weekend on October 28 & 29
  2. Sign up on the official Hacktoberfest website with your GitHub or GitLab account (registration starts September 26th)
