Barcelona
So I’m in Barcelona at the IT-Forum now! Let me first tell you that the weather here is fantastic, sunny and a nice 20 degrees.
Today is the Pre-Conference day and while writing this (I know, I should not be doing this) Ronald Beekelaar is presenting the final session on Virtualization.
He covers within four sessions the topics:
– General Overview
– Architecture and Future (including the Longhorn part)
– Operations (Clustering scenarios covering Host to Host and Guest to Guest)
– Management (Scripting and tuning)
The title of the Pre-Conference session is ‘Using Microsoft Virtualization Technologies Today, and Planning for Tomorrow’ And this is the official text on the IT-Forum site:
How do the Microsoft virtualisation technologies work? Where are they often used? How can you make best use of them? Get answers to these questions and more as this Pre-Conference takes an in-depth look at the current and future Microsoft virtualisation technologies.
The Pre-Conference will cover the Virtual Server 2005 R2 architecture, usage scenarios, how to implement host and guest clustering, performance optimization, and deployment, backup, restore and management of multiple virtual machines. We also take a look at the enhancements being introduced in future virtualisation technologies including Virtual Server 2005 R2 Service Pack 1, and the Longhorn wave: Windows Virtualization and Hypervisor, plus the management possibilities of System Centre Virtual Machine Manager.
