Rosario becomes Visual Studio Team System 2010

29 september Microsoft announced Visual Studio System Team System 2010, formerly known under its codename Rosario. Visual Studio System Team System 2010 will focus on improving software quality. Microsoft aims to deliver tools that support the application lifecycle management (ALM); From developers to architects, from user requirements to projectmanagers. Visual Studio Team System 2010 will support UML and Domain Specific languages.

One way to support ALM is to make it easier to model, discover and maintain the architecture of an application. Visual Studio 2010 will make it possible to visual and guard the architecture with the Architecture Explorer.

Another way is to improve the way testing is done. Test scenarios can be better documented. Test data will be collected more thoroughly. Testers will heave tools designed for their needs. The Test Impact View will show the impact of code changes on tests.

Yet another way is the enhancement of debugging an application with the new feature called 'Historical Debugging'. This will help developers solve bugs more easily.

And yet another way are the improvements to the version control system such as the gated check-in, branch visualization and build workflow.
