Eclipse Rich Client webcasts all over the place
Eclipse 3.2 is coming Real Soon Now and the Eclipse projects are trying to get some extra buzz. Eclipse is organizing several “Webinars“, which you can sign up for by simply dropping an e-mail. If you are interested in one of the Eclipse projects this can be a nice way to get a quick introduction. I viewed the webinar on DTP combined with BIRT in Eclipse Rich Client Platform (RCP), which was a bit of a mess. The presenters discussed too many subjects in such a short time and the stories did not connect. Still there were some nice insights. Jason Weathersby is a good and fast presenter and just hearing him say “BIRT” with his awesome Texan accent made the presentation worth watching. 🙂 They promised to put up the webinar recordings but I can’t find them yet, I’ll update this post when I do. Update: I got an e-mail with the link to the archived webinar.
Another webcast on Eclipse RCP was sponsored by Instantations and shown on Sys-Con. Mike “Eclipse CEO” Milinkovich is a great speaker and gives a good introduction to Rich Clients, Eclipse and Eclipse RCP. Mike “Better than Matisse” Taylor does not try to make it too commercial which is commendable and makes the talk just that much better. I like the “talk show” setting too, right on Times Square. Definately worth watching if you are interested in Eclipse and/or Java Rich Clients. Sign in here using your (spam) e-mail account and you can watch the archived presentation. Be sure to lower the volume a bit before you do though, because Sys-Con thought it was really cool (not) to have some pretty loud guitars playing from time to time.
