On my way to Redmond for an advisory board meeting with Microsoft

Raimond and I got an invitation from Microsoft to come to the Redmond campus next week. We will be participating in an advisory board for a new certification program that is being developed. We will be traveling tomorrow and arrive late Saturday in Redmond. This is the first time we will be staying so close to the campus, other times we stayed more in the center of Seattle. I hope there is something to do at night in the area of Redmond; otherwise we need to prepare for some dull evenings in our hotel.

I certainly hope we have some fruitful engagements with Microsoft and I hope I can tell some more on what to expect from this new certification, when we are back.

We both already participated in the MCA certification track and there are many things we have learned from that. I think we will have some great discussions on the value of certification and how you can measure someone’s skills. I truly hope this certification will be more then learning the properties of some classes. I will do whatever I can to make this new level of certification meaningful to professionals that make the difference in the projects. It would be great if there is a certification people will be eager to achieve and has real value to those hiring people.

If you have idea’s of your own what is important in certification and what you are missing with today’s certifications let me know.
