Promotion!
About two days ago I was appointed by Klaasjan Tukker (JUG lead) to serve in the NL-JUG Executive Committee. My first ‘offical’ act was to help judge the session proposals for the upcoming J-Spring 2006 conference. Tough job considering the large amount of papers and the tiny amount of available slots. In the end I think we did a good job. The program for J-Spring offers cool topics and speakers. If your proposal didn’t make it this time, make sure to try again next time! The NL-JUG tries to offer everyone a fair chance in presenting a talk at one of it’s conferences.
Yesterday, I was initiated into the rituals of the NL-JUG content management system to prepare the J-Spring 2006 website. The conference website will be available in the very near future. Very much respect goes to Klaasjan for keeping this stuff up almost entirely by himself over the past years! What a work! I’m very pleased to help him out with these kinds of things as of now.
Got to run…there’s lots of stuff that has to be done before I pack my bags and fly out to San Francisco for the JavaOne 2006 conference.
